Is it weird to wear baby sling? :o

Finally my quest to find my baju raya ended today. I love wearing dark colored clothes, the darker, the better. :) However this year, I want to make few exception as this year. We've decided to have a theme color.. yeah.. I know, it's lame.. but that's how we roll from now on! lol!

After several day of relentless pursue over the baju kurung, finally I stumbled upon a very nice baju kurung and most importantly, it's within my budget! yay! but sadly, it's not the end of the journey, actually we just warming up.. We have to get baju melayu for the daddy and son! Keep fingers crossed!

Now, where was I.. Oh yeah, actually I wanted to talk about baby sling that I wore carrying Zara. As I walked around town with it, I saw eyes keep on staring at me trying to figuring out what's in the "sack"?! yes, a sales girl actually taught it's a bag.. I must say it's weird to hear such comments.. Some of them even approach me and telling me that it's not good for the baby.. Hurmm.. I personally think that it's very convenient and comfortable for the baby! She slept the whole day without a sound when she's in the sling. I love using it and most importantly, she loves it and I'm going to stick with it! Stare all you want people, it's going to be my fashion statement! Hahahahaha! :)

This is how it looks.. too lazy to get up and take a picture of myself.. Definitely not at this hour! haha!

Astro B.yond - PVR family commercial

Zhafran is obsessing over PVR family commercial aired in Astro. He keeps on "clicking" the the "button" on the tv. One day while he's taking his nap, the commercial popped out. The next I knew he was already in front of the tv, trying to click on it. It was a joy at first to watch but once i saw his sticky fingers on the tv, it's not a pretty sight anymore! haha!

I wish I knew the "family" behind the "buttons". My son would really love seeing them in real life. Ohh.. I hope he'll not try to "click" on them. Things are going to get ugly! lol! :)

In this scene, the mom and dad were accidentally bumped into each other which is real fun to see.. It catches my attention to watch the whole commercial. They look so cute and funny!

This is my son's favorite scene. By now, he's already in front of the tv and trying to click on the "play" button. Most probably because that the only "button" is within his reach! :)

*Gosh.. he's now trying to click on the images while I'm posting this. ;) Gotta run..

The baby has arrived! :)

I'm so happy to announce that Zara Suffiya is here. She was born on the 17th of June 2010 weighing 2.89 kg at Sime Darby Medical Center (SDMC). It was a quick delivery and I thank God for that. She's healthy and so far a very quiet one too.. :)

I was 2.5cm dilated on June 10th. I didn't feel any contraction in regards to it. Dr Siti gave me an option to induce but I wanted to try to have as normal delivery as possible so we stick to our plan and wait. Since I told her that I have to go to my cousin's wedding on the coming weekend, she advised not lift heavy things and just relax. It was really hard to stay still if you have a year old boy running in heavy crowds. :)

I went to the next week check up which is on June 17th, she checked and confirmed I was dilating 4cm and I still didn't feel the contraction. She told me that it's going to be a quick delivery and she estimated within 3-4 hours. I was skeptical about it due to long hours delivery with Zhafran. They gave me an I.V drip to induce the baby and I was dilating to 8cm in no time. After a good 40 minutes in unimaginable pain, Zara came into the world with her sweetest cry. The doctor even allowed my hubby to cut the umbilical cord! :)

It was very quick pregnancy and delivery for me since I only knew about the pregnancy on my 5th month. I felt slight movement in my belly. At that time, I figured, maybe I'm pregnant or something else is going on. Given my track record, it's best to go straight to gynae - if I'm pregnant at least I know the correct timing. While waiting for urine test, I climbed up the bed for scanning. Within seconds, the doctor asked me whether I wanted to know the gender of the baby. I was shocked and knew it must be on my 5th month! It's normal for me not getting period regularly and I don't experience any pregnancy sickness plus the belly only shown at the end of 6th month pregnancy. Everyone in the office was shocked! Shortly after that, I gave birth and now on maternity leave. :)

I am an active person. I wish I could slow down a bit during my pregnancy. I even did wall climbing on my 4th month of pregnancy. If only I knew bout it sooner.. After all being said, Zara is a very healthy and beautiful girl and I thank God for that. :) Alhamdulillah.

Finally bought a sewing machine but from a fraud! Blergh!

My new found 'hobbie' -sewing- is a far fetch idea than what I had in mind when I was growing up. I hated the idea of sewing as I used to see it as tedious and time consuming work. I came a long way to realise that it's a fun thing to do and the satisfaction when you get seeing your finish garments. I've been wanting to own a sewing machine for a couple of months now and thinking that I'd borrow my mom's machine. I shared the idea with my hubby and he happily support my new found 'interest'.

We went on a quick survey last week and fell in love with a sewing machine Brother NV900 - a sewing + embroidery machine. He was gladly offered me the machine but it cost a bomb if you buy inclusive of the software. At first the owner quote me RM8500 which is rediculous! Then, he narrow it down until RM5000. I feel fishy about the offer but my hubby went along and place the deal.

They promised me to send over the machine on Tuesday at 6pm. I like to be punctual so i called them up at 5:45pm, just to check if they were on their way. Sadly the owner give excuses that it was a busy day for them. Again, I feel cheated. at least he should have called and let his customer knows bout it. I insisted that it should be delivered by the same day and I don't care of the hour. He promised me that he'll be here at 8pm but end up waited a good 1/2 an hour for them to arrive.

The staff showed me how to operate the machine and I am impressed of the machine capabilities. Well the machine alone cost me RM3800. I am happy with the product. Back to the seller, the staff finally showed me the "software". Well, it is original but it's registered to the seller. Not me. It sort of I paid RM1.2K for a loan software. If I wanted to get a pirated copy, might as well I download the software from the net. I was under impression that he had a variety of patterns in the software but sadly I could've found more in the net. I feel cheated by the seller. Payment has been made and no turning back for me.

PLEASE DON'T BUY SOFTWARE FROM LSN. WHAT EVER THEY SAY - ONLY GO FOR THE SEWING MACHINE. BUY THE SOFTWARE ON THE NET. IT'S CHEAPER. SERIOUSLY. IT IS!

JB-Spore trip

DAY 1

The holiday was a bittersweet experience because it was an impromptu decision. Not much preparation was done.. I mean not as much as I wanted to.. On our first day, we spent the day by driving to JB and made a quick stop at Batu Pahat to taste the famous mee racun. Yes, you read it right.. the name is mee racun.. :0 It tasted more like mee bandung only the soup is thicker with potato and an egg in it. The stall received a good review from a forum on the net and I agreed with the writer. We continue on our journey to JB and found a cheap hotel which is within our budget. Haha! :D Well it was the first day and we're going to be on foot for most of the time, so why waste money? ;) We got a nice hotel (Tian Jin Hotel) for a merely RM59 per night. I think it was a good bargain as it was on school holiday and few days before xmas.. It has a hot shower, a tv, hot and cold water, maggi mee and coffee. It was better than what I expect for RM59. Later that night, we indulge ourselves with nasi ayam penyet at Benafe Cafe which also had a good review in forums on the net. :)

DAY 2

The next day was the big day as we were heading to Singapore for the next 2 days. We park our car near the pasar borong Larkin which is situated beside the bus terminal. It was RM2.50 per day which is affordable. ;) We took the Singapore-Johore Express (SJE) bus for a merely RM2.50 per person. We bought 2 tickets and continue our journey to Singapore. We had to stop 2 times before we reach Spore. The first was at JB Sentral - huge and very modern architecture. We check-in at the immigration Malaysia and straight towards Spore and had to stop again for the Spore immigration in order to continue our journey. It was exhausting to queue up every time you're at the terminal. I am surprised how the people that lives in Johor commute daily to Spore. Unfortunately, I had seen ugly scenes of people who cut queue and being kiasu at the terminal. We were not in rush so we gave in but it was shocking to see it personally. There was a lady standing beside me pretending to check if the bus has arrived and then, just stand there pretending not to the lines beside her and somehow the newcomers not knowingly just queuing up behind her and forming double lines. My mistake was I didn't confronted her earlier and it was too late when I did. She was being ignorance and kiasu. I hated the situation but I hated even more to be step on for such matter! That was my first impression of Singapore and I only can hope for the better. Fortunately, I met a Singaporean girl named Suriyanti while on the bus and she was very helpful on describing places, things to do on the island. Thanks to her, I'm able to plan my trip well. When we reached at the bus terminal at Bugis street, we walked to nearby MRT station. We were surprised with the MRT sytem that they have. The definitely have a good public transportation on their hands. We bought 2 Ez-Link cards for SGD30 and they're refundable. However, SGD5 was charged per card and that's not refundable but since they offer discounted price if you use EZ-link that's a good bargain for me. :)

Upon recommendation by Suriyanti, we made our way to Geylang by stopping at Paya Lebar station. The people are helpful in giving direction and we found our hotel in no time. We decided to stay at Hotel 81 Opera which situated at Joo Chiat Road. It's Singapore largest top value budget hotel chain at various locations. It cost us SGD59/night and it's a walking distance to a bus stop. :D After refresh ourselves at the hotel, we decided to make a move to Mustafa Centre. We took bus 33 from Joo Chiat Place and heading to MRT station. When we reached Mustafa Centre which is situated in Little India, little did we know that it's a 24 hours mall and anything that you need, you can get it there. The concept is more or less like Mydin but they stacked up branded expensive stuff such as Clarks like it only cost SGD5 while actually it was SGD100. :0 Finally, our last stop for the day was Orchard Road. We stopped at Wisma Atria - Orchard MRT station and we just stroll along the street with the beautiful lights and decorations along the street. :D

DAY 3

We had our lunch at a resraurant not too far from the hotel. We met a nice lady who's the owner of the restaurant. She was telling us on the high utility bills and rental that she has to pay. The rental alone cost her SGD11k. >.<>.< style="font-style: italic;">factory busses just took on pasengers over the limit and people keep on pushing to get in.. - in the middle of the road.. >.< style="font-weight: bold;">

DAY 4

Before we leave, we had our lunch at Singgah Selalu. They have a wide range of Malay food. Then, on our way to KL, we made a quick stop at Coconut Shake near Tg Keling, Melaka. There were a lot of people queuing up for it. It was good and refreshing! ;) Heavy downpour of rain welcoming us back home - just like when we left it.. :D
